Chronology of cameras Kodak
History of the brand Kodak New window

Traduction de Sylvain Halgand.

How they were going to be hard these Eighties, for the firm which was to however celebrate its centenary there!!!
In 1986, Instant Cameras were going to be withdrawn from the market after the resounding lawsuit with Polaroid.
1988 was the end of the manufacture of the cameras with Disc. But what Kodak was going to make in here ?

In 1982, Kodak leading to the extreme the reasoning which had made the success of the 110 and the 126,
launched a film in the wafer shape, containing 15 views of 8x10 mm and protected by a rigid hull,
as for the current data-processing diskettes. Because of smallness of the cartridge,
the cameras accepting this film were themselves extremely thin and held in a pocket of shirt.
The loading and the use of these cameras were also very simple. In short, all or almost was gathered to call success.
But large catastrophe, the hen with yellow eggs (with red logo) drowned in Beresina,
which had melted even more quickly than the preceding time. Why? Quality, quality… was not there.
I have a thought moved for the photographers asking their customers if they were satisfied of the quality of their images.
They were to have the glottis which was stuck, because it was impossible to obtain a image of normal surface of quality,
so much the ratio of enlargement was to be important. You see the problem!
Today, the secondhand trades are full people trying to sell their camera with disc.
I even met some having the nerve to affirm me that the camera could still make good photographs (sic).
It seems to me that in France, the model the more current was the 4000 (it was necessary to return
the camera to Kodak for the change of the battery to lithium, absolutely inaccessible) and 3500 (with an easily changeable battery).
They is this 3500 which I present here. It is about a model of export, technically similar to the 3000.
Its life was short: 1983 - 1984. The lens is fix-focus and with a focal distance of 12,5 mm the aperture is f/2,8.
The two-speed shutter is entirely automatic.
